I'm afraid that most "playing" with children, including my own child, bores me to tears. There is but one exception. Trains. I LOVE building the tracks. Probably because I'm so good at it, don't you think?
I am a 43 year-old mother of two. At work, I am Alison Pike, and I am an academic psychologist specialising in family relationships. In my other 128 hours I am Alison Williams; I live with my (civil) partner Sian, and we co-mother our two boys, Harry age 6 and Tom age 3. This blog is a record of how academic psychology influences (or not) my family life.
